Triad High School boys team won the MVC Track Championship on Thursday over 2nd place Mascoutah for their 5th Conference title in the last 6 years.
Belleville East Lancers captured their first Southwestern Conference title on
Thursday. The boys team outdistanced the Edwardsville boys (126 points) and
Belleville West boys (122 points for the title. O'Fallon finished 4th with 84
points. Michael Scolarici won the 1600 and the 3200.

O'Fallon Township High School, which last week won its first St. Clair
County title, captured its first SWC championship, finishing with 135 1/2 points
to 111 1/2 for the host Flyerettes.
O'Fallon's second major title in two weeks solidified its position as the top girl team in Southern Illinois.
The Panthers won the 3,200 relay and got individual wins from Rachel Roustio in the 3,200, Kaylee Schmitz in the 800, Elaine Patten in the high jump and Sarah Rautio in the long jump.
But once again, O'Fallon also got solid efforts across the board as its depth proved to be the difference.
"I know I've said it before, but this group of girls is a very special one in that, from day one, they've bought into what we've been telling them. They've worked hard, haven't missed practice and just have continued to improve all season," Panthers coach Neil James said. "In an event or two, where we may have struggled a little bit, we've had other girls pick it up and do the job.
"Coach (Nino) Fennoy and the East St. Louis program has set the bar in track and field for a long time. We've worked hard to get to the point where we're competitive with them now."
At the MVC Conference Meet, Triad scored a new meet record with 214 points with winning the conference championship.
At the Cahokia Conference meet, Freeburg outdistanced the 2nd place Central by 100 points to earn the championship.
All three team complete on Friday at the Sectionals....O'Fallon at the O'Fallon Sectionals, Triad at the Salem Sectionals, and Freeburg at the Nashville Sectionals.
